First things first logo

First Things First

Back in 1999, a friend shared the Adbusters’ First thing First manifesto with me. With it’s call for meaningful design while questioning the role of designers in society, it was an eye-opener for me, having a direct impact on how I wanted to use my newly acquired design skills. An original manifesto had be published in 1964, and there have been a few reboots since.

The 2020 manifesto wants to start a conversation among the design community on how design plays a role within the context of our climate crisis. I immediately joined as a signatory!

Clean Creatives logo

Clean Creatives

Clean Creatives is a movement of communications, design, advertisers, PR professionals, and their clients who are cutting ties with fossil fuels… because doing any campaigns for a fossil fuel client undoes all of an agency’s sustainability gains.

I have taken the Clean Creatives pledge to show I’m committed to a future for the creative industry that doesn’t include promoting pollution.
